Kayla Hicks

School Engagement Officer

Over the past decade, Kayla has trained and taught as a PDHPE teacher, discovered her passion for health and wellbeing, moved to Australia, and played a founding role in establishing a youth mental health organisation.

After teaching at one of New Zealand’s most prestigious grammar schools, Kayla relocated to Sydney, where she transitioned into the not-for-profit sector, helping to establish, grow and guide youth mental health organisation Batyr, through its critical early years.

Now, as the School Engagement Officer at HRF, Kayla is excited to leverage her experience to expand the YourCrew Classroom programs nationally. She holds a Bachelor of Physical Education from the University of Auckland.
